L-5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) is an amino acid synthesized in the body from tryptophan, which is found in dietary proteins and is used to make serotonin, an important brain chemical involved in mood, behaviour, appetite, and sleep. Serotonin production is affected by the age and lifestyle that people have.

5 HTP helps promote feelings of satiety (i.e. the feeling of being "full") whilst eating, thereby consuming less calories. It is the low Serotonin levels in migraine sufferers that are thought to be the cause of the pain experienced and as 5-HTP increases Serotonin levels, it is not only effective in relieving migraine, but continued use tends to decrease the frequency and severity of migraine headaches. Melatonin is an important initiator of sleep and 5-HTP has been shown to decrease the time required to get to sleep and to decrease the number of awakenings.
Directions
Adults and children over 16 years of age: Take one to two tablets daily, can be increased to four if required.
Maximum of six tablets can be taken a day. Do not exceed recommended daily intake unless advised by a suitably qualified person.

Per tablet:
L-5-Hydroxytryptophan (from Griffonia simplicifolia seed extract): 50mg
Ingredients
Microcrystalline Cellulose, di-Calcium Phosphate, L-5 Hydroxytryptophan (Griffonia simplicifolia seed extract), Hydroxy Propyl Methyl Cellulose, Veg. Magnesium Stearate, Acacia Gum, Silica.

Suitable for Vegetarians. No added salt or sugar. Free from yeast, gluten, corn, starch, soya, wheat, dairy products, artificial colour, preservatives and flavouring.
