I usually buy NSC Pro (only the Fruit Blast flavour not the Orange, which I think tastes yuk), but thought I'd give these a try.
The taste (based on Grape flavour) isn’t that bad. A bit syrupy, but then that’s only to be expected considering you’re packing 42g of protein into a 100ml drink) and slightly sour (which is fine by me because I happen to like sour!). Of course, the sour part might only be with Grape flavour - I can’t comment on the others. Certainly it’s palatable, unlike the Dymatize Elite which are quite sickly. No fat, no sugar and is lactose free according to the label.
Therefore, as the taste isn’t an issue for me in this instance, if I was to choose between the NSC Pro and IDS, it’d really come down to value for money. £2.49 for 42g protein in IDS vs. 99p (when bought 12 at a time) for 25g protein in the NSC.
Slightly dear (hence 4 stars rather than 5); if the cost was to come down a bit, I’d have no hesitation in buying these again.

great product quick and easy first few made me heive a little thanks to the taste but you get used to it just a shame it took 4 days to come instead of so-called 48 hours delivery but overall good product will be buying more next week .

i've just tried the new whey ids liquid shots and there great, easy to take and easy to store. ideal for a quick protein blast whilst at work or if mixing protein drinks is a problem. they taste great and is reasonably priced..

New Whey Liquid Protein employs three proteins to achieve a patent-pending formula that is (a) highly bioavailable (I.e. The proteins, in order of abundance, are collagen, whey and casein.All three proteins are hydrolyzed into peptides making the combination of proteins more bioavailable than other protein powders, bars or liquids on the market. New Whey Liquid Protein is more bioavailable than whey, whether it is isolated or concentrated. The challenge with isolated or concentrated whey is that passes through the stomach and small intestines rapidly, causing a degree of malabsorption.
Additional malabsorption is the result of the denatured protein molecules in whey drinks and bars. Denaturing occurs when the normal tertiary structure of the protein molecules are unintentionally broken down into an abnormal structure as a result of heat or acid processing (typically for the purposes of pasteurizing or baking protein drinks and bars). Denatured proteins do not have the same properties as the original protein before pasteurization. Hence, the biological activity of the proteins (I.e. The body's ability to assimilate and use the proteins) has been diminished or eliminated. In contrast, New Whey Liquid Protein is extremely heat stable because it is made completely with peptides. Because of their small size, peptides are very heat stable.
An easy way to illustrate by example, is to examine a raw egg when it is first cracked open. The white of the egg is not actually white; it is translucent (almost clear). The white is mostly protein, and it is in its original, biologically active form. When the egg is cooked, the white becomes white and opaque. The heat (I.e. Pasteurization process) caused the protein molecules to unfold (I.e. Break apart) and then reconnect in an unnatural formation. The protein is now denatured. The egg will now be relatively difficult for the body to digest and absorb (as evidenced by gastrointestinal distress experienced by many consumers who eat eggs).
