Weight loss, or to be more specific – fat loss – is a common goal for both men and women. This terminology is preferable over the former; reason being, your body weight is comprised of all tissues collectively – including muscle and bone mass. When you’re following a weight loss programme, truly, it’s surplus body fat that you want to lose.

Successful fat loss can be achieved through good nutrition and a solid training routine. Reducing your carb intake offers an effective strategy in terms of fat loss. This encourages your body to burn its fat stores for energy instead of glucose (carbs) – the latter of which it does by default when carbs are prevalent in the diet. Adequate protein, plenty of healthy fats, and slow-release carbs can provide a nutritionally balanced solution.
