PhD Nutrition Intra BCAA+ is an Intra workout product designed to help limit the breakdown of muscle tissue (catabolism) and maintain adequate hydration levels; as the name suggests, theyre best consumed during (and/or just prior to) your training session.
This product contains carefully selected ingredients, offering nutritional support to all active individuals.
Also features the branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) leucine, isoleucine and valine in a 4:1:1 ratio.These play an important role in muscle protein synthesis especially when training in a fasted state, first thing in the morning. It also contains a host of non-essential aminos derived from premium grade, hydrolysed whey protein.
Glutamine, a conditionally essential amino acid is found abundantly in skeletal muscle; it also aids the healthy function of the immune system and gut.

This flavoured BCAA powder from PhD does exactly what is say on the... erm...tub. Designed to be used during your workout, this will deliver a mix of essential aminos straight to your hard working muscles. The watermelon flavour tastes absolutely nothing like any watermelon Ive ever had, but its quite sweet and in no way unpleasant. I do have an issue with the hot pink colour though. Its no good banging out an impressive set on the bench press or squat rack if you look like youre refreshing yourself with a strawberry daiquiri.Value 80% Overall 80% Great product - but choose flavour wisely!
Ordered this product with a few other PHD items for a great price. I have previously been using CNP BCAAs and just wanted to see what else was out there.I ordered the Coconut and Lime flavour, and although the powder mixes really well and the tub is a decent size, that particular flavour is not the nicest! It smells of lime, but tastes of coconut - I was expecting a refreshing flavour but its a very sickly sweet coconut so wasnt great during training. Will definitely buy again but probably try a different flavour -
