Diana Nyad is not your average 64 year old women, she has demonstrated exemplary fitness as well as remarkable grit and determination to swim 110 miles over a period of 53 straight hours!
After 4 previous failed attempts dating right back to 1978, Diana has either got better with age, or found a new level of desire and urgency to succeed…this might have been her last chance to crack it! Diana was magnanimous in defeat, but what sets her apart was her humbleness in victory. Her message was this:
1.) We should never give up #amen
2.) You are never too old to chase your dreams #amen
3.) It was a team performance #amen
Diana was escorted by a 35 people in boats as well as being greeted by 100 or so well wishers in Florida…quite a modest celebratory party seeing as she was the first person in history to ever swim from Cuba to the US WITHOUT a shark cage!
Thanks Diana for the refreshing reminder of teamwork, achieving dreams and NEVER GIVING UP!
