Yes, some of the best sprinters in the world were not competing in the games, with prominent names such as Bolt, Gay, and Blake missing (to name a few). This said though, you can only race what’s put in front of you and England’s Adam Gemili did just that in emphatic style! The 20 year old former Chelsea Football Academy player came of age yesterday to lose out from gold to an incredible 22 year old Jamaican athlete in the form of Kemar Bailey- Cole who won with a time of 10 seconds flat. For a guy who wasn’t even ranked in the top 10 of the common wealth, Gemili has really placed his stamp on the international sprinting stage with that performance. Well done sir! More of the same please ENGLAND!
