Over the weekend I saw an incredible amount of friends and friends of friends take part in the ALS Ice Bucket challenge which helps raise awareness for the disease. Some of the videos are highly amusing which is great to see but the most important thing to do is make sure you make a donation. Ever wondered why it is ice water we are throwing over ourselves though? Well, the unfortunate disease ALS attacks the neurons which ultimately results in loss of bodily functions. It is a neurodegenerative disease and the ice water we replicate in the challenge is (for a second or two) showing us what it feels like to have ALS.
Obviously it really is no comparison but the cold water is meant to act as a way of shutting our body down, because for a second or so we are left there standing freezing cold.
Don't FORGET to make a donation, it is the most crucial thing about this whole challenge. Here is a link on how you can do it....

Here is one of the funniest videos I have seen all weekend... Enjoy and of course, we are not suggesting you do this so please take care when taking part.
