The BCAA Supplement’s STAR PLAYER Ingredient Is…

What makes the Branched Chain Amino Acid, or BCAA as it is more commonly known, so useful at promoting muscle growth and development is its ability to stave off muscle breakdown, as well as invoking muscle growth (muscle protein synthesis). There are a few reasons for this, but chiefly it is the anabolic potential of Leucine, Leucine is arguably the most important amino acid for muscle growth. What makes Leucine the ‘star player’ is its proteinogenic properties, which means it is only used in muscle protein synthesis. Conversely the other two BCAAs, isoleucine and valine are glucogenic, meaning they are converted into glucose for energy, and to a much lesser extent used for muscle protein synthesis.
