Blue & Black OR White & Gold Dress Divides The World! Internet Phenomenon!

What on earth is this all about!? We find ourselves confronted by a real mix of opinion on something that really should NOT be based on opinion…that being the colour of this dress! A dress that has 2 colours on it can ONLY be a combination of 2 colours, so why are people divided on what colour this dress is? Is this some trick to test what we THINK we know about the world, after all, the term ‘black’ is only a term to describe something that looks like coal, or the term ‘blue’ is only a term we gave to something that looks like the sky.

As it turns out, this isn’t some big conspiracy, it actually has everything to do with an optical illusion. Objects reflect light at certain wavelengths (colours) and it is the brains interpretation that determines what we think we see. This perception was apparently thrown off due to the surrounding colours…hence the divided opinion!

Sorry, that was a poor explanation, but it’s complicated stuff right!? All I know is that something as simple as a dress can cause such a stir that even celebs such as Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian, Kanye and Ellen Degeneres take the time to tweet about it!
