British Girls FATTEST In Europe… Time We Took Action!

Experts assert that a third of girls in the UK are ‘dangerously fat’ meaning they are at high risk of developing conditions such as Diabetes, cardiovascular disease and high blood pressure. I cut straight to the chase with this, an approach that I feel the British government would do well to follow! Yes, we’re all responsible for our own destiny and wellbeing, but whether we like it or not, many are bound by their lack of understanding. SO LETS EDUCATE THEM and MAKE IT LAW, not AN OPTION!

Childhood obesity has to be addressed, child death rate in the UK is the second worst in Western Europe. The same study also found that one in ten children also had a mental health illness, a condition that is now understood to heavily impact on obesity (in fact, obesity is widely considered a mental condition itself). The number of girls that are overweight or obese now outweigh the number of boys, not that gender really matters, but the numbers are very concerning all the same. The study found that 26% of boys and 29% of girls are overweight or obese, that’s more than a quarter of Britain’s child population! It’s refreshing to see that the NHS are taking a stand, but only time will tell if this makes a positive dent on this BIG (in more ways than one) problem.
