Bro, This Protein Is The Bomb…Oh Wait! City Shut Down Due To Bomb Scare

A recent incident in Birmingham city centre high street gave a whole new meaning to the term ‘this protein is the bomb’! You might have already heard, but this Monday just gone saw some local brummies’ become well and truly shaken up (excuse the pun) by what was initially thought to be a bomb!

Police started a full scale bomb alert, isolating (no pun intended) the area by closing the Birmingham city centre street over a suspicious package that resembled a protein shake tub…wait, that’s because it was!! The suspicious looking package was reported to West Midlands Police at 8.15am Monday morning by Christopher White, a regular passer-by in the area.

One cannot at all blame him for thinking the worse and reporting it, in today’s current climate you cannot be too careful and need to whey things up (sorry, couldn't resist) before making a decision. Terrorist attackers are coming up with ever more inventive ways to commit heinous crimes of destruction. Mr White gave the following statement to a local newspaper:

An energy drink container, that would normally hold powder, was seeping liquid. I called the police and they closed off Dalton Street and the surrounding area.

The suspicious package was close to the courts and there are lots of police officers in the area.

– CHRISTOPHER WHITE

All things considered it was a sensible move, better safe than sorry, but when the suspicious item happened to be whey protein leaking out of a protein tub, we couldn’t help but chuckle to ourselves. The courts that are located near to where the protein container was found were packed full with journalists and cameramen for a hearing involving 2 men accused of murder. Police took no chances and sent sniffer dogs in to see what the deal was, but all that came from it was a tub of soggy protein, a few red faces, and a couple of hench police dogs.

All’s well that ends well right!?
