The average person over Christmas puts on 4lbs of weight and it could be on your hips until Easter say experts. 44% let themselves go over Christmas and 39% of people gain 3-5lbs while 5% of others gain over a stone. Are you someone that lets yourself go over the Christmas period? Many people take up to 4 months to lose their Christmas weight due to the excessive amounts of mince pies, chocolates and other goodies that are consumed.
These figures are based on a survey of 1000 people who were asked different questions over what they will eat during the Christmas period. Over 52% of people admitted they eat twice their recommended amount of calories which is due to the large increase of alcohol.
My advice is to stay as healthy as you can and only do things in moderation. Stick to a good exercise plan and it won't be such a shock in the new year.
