Commonwealth Games : England Lead The Medal Table After Day 1

With what proved to be a thoroughly entertaining and inspiring first day of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, England can enter day 2 with their head held high! They lead the medal table by 2 medals totalling 17, closely followed by Australia on 15, a nation who usually finish quite high up the rankings. England boast an impressive 6 golds, 7 silvers and 4 bronze medals, a haul that is bound to put a spring in their step for the rest of the games! The rest of the UK are doing a good job too with Scotland sat in 3rd place with an impressive 10 medals, Wales in 8th and Northern Ireland in 11th. It's very early days of course, but lets see what the next 9 ½ days have in store shall we!
