Commonwealth Games : England Tops Medal Table In Emphatic Team Performance

Off the back of the 2012 London Olympic Games, Glasgow hosted a quite brilliant Commonwealth Games, but what made it all the more sweet was that England came through to lead the medal table after the 12 day event! Not only did we top the table, we did so in emphatic style…our total medal haul was 174 comprising of 57 bronze, 59 silver and 58 gold medals. The closest to this was Australia with 137 comprising 46 bronze, 42 silver and 49 gold medals. I should mention Scotland’s excellent show with a national record of 53 medals comprising 19 bronze, 15 silver and 19 gold medals.

Well done to all the nations for making the Commonwealth Games such an endearing event. We eagerly anticipate the next one!
