Your Only Competition Is You... Be Better Than You Were Yesterday

For many of you, you will have an end goal in mind. Is this goal of yours to look and feel better, do you want to lose weight, run faster or tone up? Are you looking to pack on some muscle, increase your size and get a shredded set of abs? Is the goal more of a holistic approach and are you just wanting to feel more alive? Do you know what the most incredible thing is about wanting to achieve a goal and actually getting there? The feeling of not giving up when the going gets tough. The feeling you will receive upon reaching your goal will be happiness, satisfaction and plans for a new one because you want the feeling again of achieving something. But why do so many fail or give up? Why isn't everyone achieving their goals they set out to make? Here are some possible reasons why....

Focus On You

The biggest problem people make is that they focus on everyone else's results and not on their own. What does this mean? Well, simply put if you concentrate on your friend's progress, or a complete strangers, you aren't focusing on you and you could get disheartened. The key is to be mindful of what your friends are doing but ultimately you need to make sure you are concentrating on your progression and how you can make yourself better. When the focus is elsewhere it means you aren't truly focusing 100% on yourself.

Keep Your Goals Realistic

Another problem is that the goals which are set are too big and unrealistic to reach which will yet again result in feeling disheartened. A key solution to this problem is to set smaller, more realistic targets which can be reached every few weeks and in turn it will keep you motivated to carry on.

What You Do Counts

At the end of the day it is what you do day in, day out which counts. The effort you put into your workouts, your nutrition and how you prioritise what you do counts towards reaching your goal. Each and every day you must be willing to put in 100% effort because you can't reach your goal just by having a 9-5 attitude. Hard work and consistent dedication to what you are doing is what is going to help you reach your goal.

Final Thoughts

At the end of each day ask yourself ''Have I done enough today to get me one step closer to my goal?' If you answer no then you know you must work harder to get better. Remember do not get caught up in what everyone else is doing, only concentrate on what you are doing because that is all you can focus on. When looking at yourself in the mirror, remember it is just you, against you and no matter what anyone else says, this is your goal. So, get out there and achieve what you have set out to do, make it count today and give it nothing short of 100%. Enjoy the rest of your day and week, YOU CAN DO IT!!
