It has only recently dawned on me that the greatest Olympian of all time, Michael Phelps is actually considering a return ready for the 2016 Olympic games. The 28 year old is still young enough, and 22 Olympic medals later says that if any one can do it he can! He is due to compete at the end of April for a meet in Arizona, but his coach Bob Bowman is quick to add that "He's just going to test the waters a little bit and see how it goes, I wouldn't say it's a full-fledged comeback."
So is all the hype just ‘hype’, or is there a real chance we could be seeing the best there is and has been compete in the upcoming 2016 games!? The guy has won 18 Olympic Gold’s, with his last coming at the London 2012 Olympic games, so does he really have the bit between his teeth for more…only time will tell I guess. Phelps will not only need the hunger to train and get back in the water, but he’ll also have to regain the desire to win more medals, and that can’t be easy when you’ve already got 22 of them in your cabinet. Watch this space!
