Double Euro Millions Winners : Why Life Is A About Hard Work AND… Sometimes A Whole Lot Of Luck!

WHATS IN THE NEWS logo

A couple from Scunthorpe are living proof that sometimes, for some reason, good things happen to the same people, for no apparent reason at all...apart from the fact that they take a punt! Now this might be offset by lots of not so good things happening, who knows, what we do know though is that something comes into play when odds of 283 billion to 1 happen.

Mr David Long and Mrs Kathleen MacKenzie have defied astronomical odds by securing a double Euro Millions win! The couple first won back in 2013 cashing £1 million, and have since won £1 million AGAIN…oh, not to mention a brand new Jaguar too!

Whatever you make of such ‘luck’, Mr Long explains how he always had a feeling that he would win:

'I always knew I'd win, even the first time. I just had a feeling'

Gary Player, the multiple golfing champion, famously once said ‘the harder I work, the luckier I get’…few would argue with this sentiment, however it’s not easy to apply this to the above quote. Maybe ‘luck’ is the wrong word, but something has to come into play when 283 billion to 1 odds are defied…right!?
