Eating Insects Gets Another Seal Of Approval As Salma Hayek Eats Crunchy Cricket

It isn’t going to be all that long until insects are considered the staple protein source to humans. Entomophagy is the technical term for consuming creepy crawlies, and there is absolute method behind this apparent madness. Insects are pound for pound more protein dense than beef, and is equally well absorbed and used by the body. It is also far more sustainable and will dramatically reduce the impact that sourcing protein has on the environment.

In a recent video placed on Instagram, Hollywood leading lady Salma Hayek was taking her 52,000 strong Instagram following through an up close and personal show of her crunching into a delightful cricket. Is this a glimpse into her everyday eating habits, the tricks that keep her looking incredibly youthful despite being 48 years of age. Either that or she is dropping a hint that we should all start thinking about including entomophagy into our habitual way of eating.
