Ebola : World Health Organisation Backs Use Of EXPERIMENTAL Treatments

Nothing demonstrates the feeling of desperation more than the administration of an EXPERIMENTAL drug to cure a virus that is spiralling out of control. OK, so the Ebola pandemic is mercifully yet to reach the Western civilisation, however with Nigeria now doing their utmost to stop the disease spreading to Lagos, one of their main tourist sites, this virus is showing no signs of slowing down. Administering an unknown drug is usually unethical and deemed to be reckless, however the WHO have recently decided that in the Ebola outbreak, the unproven intervention is ethical and acceptable. One might say that it is the lesser of two evils, either we administer it and prevent this disease from spreading but with the possibility of negative side- effects, or we leave it and let is spread regardless.

Let’s hope that for West Africa and the rest of the world’s sake that this treatment is successful in the treatment of Ebola.
