A common myth within the industry is that Fats make you fat, I'm here to tell you this IS NOT the case.
Lets talk about the role of fat within your diet. Fat is a Macronutrient which ideally should be eaten with Protein and Carbohydrates, which are also part of the macronutrient family. Healthy Fat is used like carbohydrates as an energy source and therefore cannot be stored as fat.
Fat is also a great ‘filler’ for your body. Once consumed it will send a chemical message to your brain telling you that you’re full. So this is great for those that are looking to control what you eat. Healthy sources of fat can also contain good amounts of protein, and are also good for your skin.
Ideal sources of good healthy fats are:
Organic peanut/cashew/almond butter, nuts and seeds, avocados and oils such as coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil and rapeseed oil.
