The Fight Or Flight Response Whilst Exercising

How many of you have heard about the fight or flight response whilst training? Did you know that what you do leading up to your training session can release adrenaline within your body. The fight or flight responses are based on how you react to a situation and ultimately you will either fight or flee. How does this fit into exercise? Well, how many of you sometimes don't feel like exercising? You perhaps have a lack of energy and don't feel up to it? What happens though when you listen to some upbeat music or watch a motivational video? You start to get into it right, you feel more alive and seem to have more energy?

This right here is the fight response which is being activated by your sympathetic nervous system and when this happens adrenaline is also released. Adrenaline is great for a training session as it helps block out pain and gets you fired up for your session. Weight lifters, strongmen and powerlifters will all agree that this response is great for obtaining superb lifts. Next time you hit the gym, play some loud music to get you pumped up and ready for your session.
