Flavour Review Of MuscleMeds Carnivor BEEF Protein....

product review

Following on from the post last week introducing this product to our site I thought I would go into a bit more detail on what I think of the product, focusing on how it mixes, tastes and the consistency of it all. At the end of this review I will always give it a rating out of 5 stars to determine whether I think this is a good product to use and who should be taking it with their goals.

Beef Protein

To start off I just want to touch on the fact that it's a one of a kind type of product due to the fact it contains only beef protein and is not derived from whey. With it being derived from beef it's naturally high in protein and creatine which is vital for strength and recovery in and out of the gym. To break it down further, this supplement is incredibly low in calories and carbohydrates/sugars but high in protein and vitamins and minerals to support someone who is active most days.

Taste

Flavour used to be something that wasn't so important with supplements a few years back, but now with many different products out there to choose from, flavour has to be on point. I tried the chocolate flavour Carnivor and I have to say I was more than pleased with the taste of the product. It tasted like chocolate and not like a sweetened flavour of chocolate like when comparing Dairy Milk to Hershey's and there is a distinct difference between them both. No, this chocolate Carnivor certainly tasted like the real deal and it left a good aftertaste in my mouth, again of what chocolate should taste like.

Mixability and Consistency

Some protein powders are horrendous, chalky like and just don't mix well as they leave lumps in your shaker which make you gag when they hit the back of your throat, don't worry we have all been there. It's safe to say though that MuscleMeds have this protein powder locked down on how it mixes and the consistency of it when mixed with water. Once liquid is added to the shake it really was just 5 or 6 shakes and the protein had mixed smoothly with the water and was ready for me to drink. The consistency of the product was also really good and didn't leave any lumps or bits at the bottom of my shaker.

Is This For Me?

Finally is this protein shake something you should be using for your goals? Well, this supplement is marketed for those that want to remain lean and build muscle without putting on excess body fat. If your goal is to maintain a low body fat, keep your abs and stay athletic looking then this product is definitely for you. It's high protein and low carbohydrate/calorie content makes it a brilliant choice to have immediately after training and as a snack during the day.

Rating

The product gets a 4.5/5 rating from myself based on how awesome the protein powder mixes and taste. The nutritional make up of the protein is brilliant and unique too which is going to appeal to many of you. It is a premium protein so you will pay prices that are similar to other brands like Optimum Nutrition and Reflex, but don't let this put you off.
