The Forgotten Rule Of Getting Fit = Stay Fit!

What do I mean…well it’s a bit of an oxymoron, but ‘staying fit’ in the sense of remaining injury free is probably the most overlooked part of ‘getting fit’!

The pursuit of getting fit and healthy is a long and labour intensive journey, but the hare and the tortoise analogy comes to mind here. Who’s fitter, the person who can run fastest or the one who can run the longest? People tend to be all or nothing when it comes to training (not all, but most), so they will work so darn hard to achieve a level of fitness only to push that little bit too hard when ‘snap’!! The nature of training is to push the boundaries and improve slowly but surely, but many will try to do too much too soon and end up with little more than a limp and week of watching daytime telly instead of working out!

When you next exercise, above all else be sure to exercise caution first! Stick with the plan and remember slow gains are better than no gains at all!
