On The Go? Use A Fruit Smoothie To Help Stay Full

I know so many of you lead an active lifestyle and keeping up with your meals is sometimes a difficult task. Preparation and knowing what you are doing each day is key to staying hunger free. How many of you reading this can honestly say that you prepare your meals for the next day? If you do then keep this up as this will curb your cravings and keep you on track. For many of you that have read the last few sentences and agree this is you, well there is a solution and it could help you.

Why You Need To Keep Hunger At Bay

First and foremost if weight loss and maintaining a healthy weight is your goal then you need to make sure you keep hunger at bay. It might seem simple and an easy concept to grasp but I speak to different people who aren't keeping on top of this simple task. Did you know when you are hungry you should have maybe eaten 30 minutes prior to getting to that stage. It is similar to when you are in need of water, dehydration has already kicked in and you should have had your water prior to that stage. So keeping hunger at bay is all relative and you need to make sure you know your day and what foods you are going to need.

Think Fast and Easy. Think Fruit Smoothie!

Did you know combining fruits together as a smoothie can help fill the void that is hunger. Fruit is a healthy option and it will keep you full up for periods of time where you might not be able to eat. If you are on the train, in the car or in a meeting you can have a smoothie on you and it will keep hunger at bay.

Add Protein??

The beauty of a fruit smoothie is that you don't just have to have it on it's own. You can experiment and increase the density of the shake and therefore increase the length of time it will take to breakdown within your body. Remember, these smoothies are yours to use when you are going to need to consume something and other food meals aren't an option! Why not add a scoop of whey protein to your fruit smoothie? You could add a chocolate or unflavoured whey protein. By adding whey protein to the mix you won't miss out on your daily protein requirements. If you wanted to go one step further you could even add a carbohydrate source like muesli or porridge to the mix and make it the ultimate smoothie snack!!

The Final Product

Your fruit smoothie is yours to design and have when you need it most. Remember this is a snack or meal that will give you energy, focus and reliability. It is something that will curb your hunger pangs and not have your stomach rumbling without being able to eat. It also means you won't make uninformed choices. When you become hungry your eyes start to wander and this could mean you pick something bad to eat when you know you need to stick to your healthy options. So, mix protein and or carbohydrates with your smoothie and have fun with it!
