If something smashes into your head during a race that requires you to swim, cycle and run a minimum of 15, and a maximum of approx 140miles…then do all you can to sit the rest of the race out, cos your lucks not in today! Well, that’s exactly what happened to poor Rajia Ogden who took one straight on the noggin during the Endure Batavia Triathlon in Geraldton, Australia. Rajia was on her second lap when the remote controlled Drone clattered into her, so was this coincidence or a cleverly orchestrated bit of sabotage…who knows. What we do know is that the athlete was largely OK, presenting with minor injuries which were treated at a local hospital. Her race was prematurely ended, pride as well as a gallivanting Drone was dented, and pie was all over the faces of videographers from New Era Photography and Film, who were using the Drone to record the triathlon live. The owner of the copter, suggests that someone had hacked into his system and caused the UAV to fall…either way, that piece of machinery crashed and burned, literally!
