A Healthy Physique Is Created In The Kitchen

What is better, training five or six times a week and eating what ever you want or training a little less but eating good, nutritious, healthy food? Most of you concentrate so much on exercising that you forget about the food you are eating. Some of you will tell yourself that it is ok to have something bad just because you have worked out. Did you know that this isn't the case and you could be doing an injustice to yourself by doing this. The foods you consume is more important than the exercise you do in and out of the gym. Here is why a healthy physique is created in the kitchen and not in the gym...

Petrol In A Car

Picture what you put into your body the same as the fuel you put into your car. If you have a vehicle which only takes unleaded petrol what happens if you put diesel into it? Silly question right? Obviously the car won't travel very far before it starts to choke and stop because it cannot process the fuel it has been given. The car stops, it doesn't go anywhere. It's performance is rubbish and you are left car less. This analogy is similar to you as a person and what you put into your body affects your performance and how far you go. If you consume rubbish food, quick release or foods that aren't going to sustain you then your performance will be minimal and you will stop, just like the car!

The Kitchen

Yes this is true, what you do in the kitchen has more benefits than you realise. In terms of ratios between a healthy diet and exercise I would personally put it at 70% diet and 30% exercise. So with that in mind it really is important you watch what types of foods you are eating. If you exercise regularly but don't watch what you eat then you could be preventing yourself from reaching your goals. Have you hit a plateau? Do you constantly change your routine in the gym but don't pay enough attention to what you are eating? Preparation and planning is everything when you are leading a healthy lifestyle...

Healthy Lifestyle

Remember what happens when you put the wrong fuel into a car, it doesn't like it and it won't work. Well your body is the same and if you continue to give it the wrong foods it won't work as well as it should do. So in order to achieve your golden physique you need to spend more time in the kitchen and make the right foods. How many of you take time in preparing what you eat? Do you eat fresh vegetables, fruit, lean meats and watch what you put into your body? This is all very important and you should take time in doing these things so that you achieve your goal. If you want to lose weight, gain weight, gain lean muscle, stay fit etc then you must look after your body and eat healthy foods.

Final Advice

Next time you go to your local supermarket make sure you take a list of foods that you need to buy. Having a list will mean you stick to it and you don't forget the important foods which you need. Be sure to include nutritious foods which will help you and not hinder your progress. You know the ones I mean, foods which are free from artificial flavourings, chemicals and sweeteners. Stay away from fried foods, fast food and other foods alike. It is ok to have these types of foods sometimes but not all the time.

Remember your body needs the correct 'fuel' so that it can function properly. Sugary and fatty foods will only slow you down, stick to healthy choices and maximise your performance in and out of the gym :)
