What Really Happens When You Heat Olive Oil?!

What really happens when you heat Olive oil. Did you know that when this oil is heated the molecules break down and they then become bad for your body.   This is what is known as the smoking point. This oil has a low smoking point and the components of the oil change from an unsaturated fat to a trans fat. Trans fats are bad for your body as they cannot be broken down. A great alternative would be to use coconut oil which has a higher smoking point and cannot be broken down, and will stay healthy for your body.

Remember all oils in moderation, in their natural state (not heated) are good for your body, you just need to watch out when you start to cook with them.
