Kick, Lift, Punch, Stretch POW The Gym Is Never A Dull Place

Heading into the gym last night and I couldn't believe that there were no parking spaces left in the gym. This rarely happens but when it does the normal thinking sets in and you start to think, ''great, every bench is going to be taken'' or worse still, ''there is going to be no space to move, dumbbells will be taken and my session is going to suck''. To my absolute surprise when I got in the gym I noticed that it was actually quiet and needless to say, I had a fantastic session, but where was everyone? Well, although the gym floor was quiet the studios were packed full of people participating in classes! The gym isn't all about lifting free weights or being on a piece of cardiovascular equipment, so let's have a look at what classes you can take part in...

Energy Classes

For all of you that love to work up a sweat and feel like the gym is YOUR playground, taking part in high energy classes are probably best suited to you. Classes such as BodyPump, BodyCombat and others which are similar will give you the same intense feeling just like when you are on the gym floor. These classes really work up a sweat and certainly test your ability to push through the burn. Although they are tough and require a lot of energy from yourself, you will leave feeling better and stronger than when you first walked in. These classes are for everyone, however mostly aimed at those who know what they are doing and love a challenge ;)

Beginner Classes

Each and every single one of us has started with no fitness ability and has had to build it up, so encouraging beginners to take part in exercise and keeping them motivated is important. If you have just joined the gym or you are building up your fitness levels, taking part in classes such as Build and Tone or Legs, Bums and Tums are perfect ways to increase your fitness and try out a new aspect of it all. The best thing about trying out new classes is the fact they are fun and you get to meet new people who will attend these classes regularly.

Relaxing and Core Classes

If you love your gym workouts enough to not want to take part in a similar class then maybe taking part in a Yoga or Pilates session could be for you? These classes are heavily based on your core and building a stronger, more functional physique for everyday life. Yoga and Pilates are spiritual classes which means they also focus on your inner strength and ultimately reducing your stress levels. If you have a stressful job and lifestyle, performing these classes will help with this. They will increase your flexibility too over time and this will help with better sleeping patterns and increased functionality on a daily basis.

In summary this is a post to show you that the gym floor isn't the only way to achieve your results and if you plan your time properly by making classes, you can still have fun with everything too.
