Mark It In Your Diaries, July 25, The CrossFit Games

One of the biggest competitions is about to commence again to determine who is the fittest male and female on planet earth. July 25 2014 marks the date where competitors show what they are truly made of by testing themselves through grueling workouts that will not only test their physical ability, but their mental capabilities also. With CrossFit literally being one of the fastest growing sports, this sets to be one of the biggest events of the year as thousands tune in to watch. We have seen the Open, the Regionals and now with just a couple of days to go, we see the GAMES take place....

How Long Are The Games??

It all kicks off Friday 25 July and within 3 days it is over, crowning the champions on Sunday 27 July.

What Will Happen?

Well the games takes place over 3 days and includes the world's top athletes who have qualified through the stages. The day is split over the course of different events taking place which will challenge the athletes and push them further than ever before. The likes of Rich Froning will be competing for his fourth title in CrossFit History whilst others try to chase him and take the title. Scott Panchik, Dan Bailey, Jason Khalipa, Neil Maddox and Ben Smith are all worthy of winning and will be giving it everything. Obviously I will be focusing my attention on the male athletes but the arena will also be filled with females who are more than capable of inspiring you. The likes of Camille Le Blanc Smith, Lindsey Valenzuela, Valerie Voboril and Talayna Fortunato will be fighting to be crowned the new champion. Defending champ Sam Briggs unfortunately didn't make it through regionals so the Brit will be sitting this one out, giving way to a new champion.

Froning For 4

The favourite and the most influential character for sure is Rich Froning and he will be the most watched athlete at the games. If you have seen him previously you will know he is an amazing competitor who wants to win again. He has shown what he is capable of from previous competitions and it is likely that he will do the unthinkable again, win a fourth CrossFit games tournament.

Are you going to watch this amazing spectacle and who are you voting for? Don't forget there is also a team event which represents some of the other best athletes around the world as they go head to head with other teams. Expect to see old events that have been moulded into tougher workouts and brand new ones which really shock the competition.

Check out the video below which will get you in the mood for the Games, good luck to all the athletes competing! DS will be right behind you watching all the action.
