Mo Farah’s preparation for the London marathon could hardly have gone worse. The pride of Britain showed his guts and steely determination by finishing second in the Ney York half marathon, despite being tripped and suffering a painful fall in the early stages of the race! Despite this Mo managed to soldier on, valiantly clawing his way back to second place finishing behind Geoffrey Mutai. However the hard work apparently took its toll on his body resulting in him collapsing at the finishing line, which saw him remaining unconscious for 3 minutes! Ultimately Mo blamed the extra energy expended playing catch up, and the sub- zero temperatures in New York for his collapse at the end of the race.
Roll on the 13th April 2014 when the Virgin Money London marathon takes centre stage…if we know our Mo, he’ll be coming out fighting for that!
