M&S 10 Year Anniversary Of ‘Not Just Any Food’ Campaign : The Inspiration Behind The Term ‘Food Porn’!

WHATS IN THE NEWS logo

Few people can fail to feel hungry after watching the catchy Marks & Spencer Food advert that artistically depicts food that seems to have a life of its own. Well their newest advert is the most interesting of them all with spinning eggs, curling prawns and oozing Jaffa spheres, and as the Daily Mail puts it, the food is made the star of the show! No doubt many of you will have heard the term ‘Food Porn’ which implies a food item or meal that is arousing to hunger and your pallet, however I bet not many of you knew that M&S were the inspiration behind this phrase. The Head of brand for food, Nathan Ansell explains:

‘We wanted to show the astonishing passion, creativity and expertise that M&S has for its food — as well as create something that people actually want to watch.’

And I have to concede, they managed it after 18months in the development of this advert. Let us know what you think too…
