A reassuring little update for you…
Brand new research from the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN) published on 15th November 2012 has found that the consumption of multi-ingredient performance supplements (MIPS) such as protein and creatine powder blends, caffeine, beta alanine, the branched chain amino acids (BCAAs) leucine, isoleucine, and valine all-in-one supplements and various other combinations, all resulted in significant improvements in lean muscle mass in trained males after a 6 week training regimen.
Those participants consuming a placebo (tablet with no performance enhancing effects) whilst performing the same training regime saw no improvements by the end of the 6 weeks.
MIPS also improved measures of anaerobic power whilst the placebo did not, further validating the use of Sport and nutrition supplements!
