The Muscle Building Foods You NEED To Eat At Breakfast....

Once upon a time breakfast was labelled as the most important meal of the day and those that missed it would soon hear about it. Is this still the case today? I know for a fact that in my world, breakfast is never forgotten about as I like to go all out at this time of the day. I'm curious to find out after writing what I think are the best muscle building foods to eat at breakfast whether, or not you agree with it. Here is my take on why eating a breakfast is more important than not eating one...

The word breakfast speaks for it self as it means 'Break the Fast' and that is exactly what you should be doing if you are wanting to gain muscle, stay lean or lose weight. At this time in the morning you will have slept for a duration of time without food or drink and therefore upon rising it is important in my eyes to let your body know you are ready to start the day.

Your Goal

Like I have mentioned above, if your goal is to build muscle, lose weight or stay lean then here is why I believe you should be eating a hearty breakfast and not skipping this meal. The importance of all three of these goals is to ensure you are eating enough calories through avoiding the want for sugary or processed foods. So what foods should you be eating at breakfast and why?

A great source of protein, amino acids, vitamins and minerals including vitamin D and they take less than a few minutes to cook. Eggs are one of the best foods out there and in my opinion should be called a superfood. One medium to large egg contains approximately 6g of protein alone, imagine having a breakfast with 2-3 eggs and you wouldn't need that protein shake which in turn will save you money!

Alongside eggs, I am a huge fan of oats and the way they fill you up with a whole lot of goodness. They are slow to medium release which means you won't get an initial spike in blood sugar. Furthermore, you are more likely to last without craving something sugary and as a result feel a lot better about yourself.

Why not have some fruit and vegetables to kick start your day which will also give you some natural sugars. We all know the benefits of having fruit and vegetables so why not get them into your system as soon as you start the day, no one said they were just for dinner you know ;)

These little beauties are not only a source of protein but also a source of fats that will help you feeling full. A handful can also increase testosterone production within males and we all know how important this is for strength whilst in the gym.

I believe that in order to keep reaching your goals you have to keep giving your body what it needs, in this case, it needs to have enough calories/nutrients throughout the day. I don't skip breakfast, you don't need too either! Make sure you have a good one that will keep you alert throughout the rest of the day, it really is the most important meal!
