News Roundup

At the end of November, I think it’s justifiable to use the ‘C’ word (Christmas). After all, it’s only a matter of weeks away! Throughout the month of December, there are two sorts of people. Firstly, those who choose to eat, drink and be merry, and are a bit more lax about training until the New Year. ‘tis the season for ‘bulking’, type-thing. Secondly, there are those who enjoy a couple of extra parsnips on Christmas Day and call that a blow-out, before heading straight back to the gym on Boxing Day.

Whichever category you fall into, we’re sure to have some crackers up our sleeve (or in our stocking?) for you to look forward to in the way of special offers, prize giveaways and new product arrivals.

However, first it’s time to roundup the industry news, relative to November:

USN’s Danny Butler on ‘recovery’

Danny Butler is a bit of a Pro on two wheels, don’t you know? Yes, he’s a five times British and European champion, and aside from his impressive mountain bike escapades, he knows a thing or two about recovery. After all, who can better attest than a professional at the top of his game? Not surprisingly, we wholeheartedly agree with him: nutrition/supplements are as important to your progress as training itself (as we say a lot around these parts).

An interview with Charlotte MacGill of team CNP

Charlotte has several titles under her belt, including Miss UK and Miss Universe, as well as the NABBA North West Toned Figure award. Earlier this month, Discount Supplements took the opportunity to have a chat with Ms.MacGill, and discover the secrets to her success. She’s an inspiration for both females and males alike, owing to her unwavering dedication and contagious, ‘go-get-it’ attitude!

You can read the interview, here.

Reflex Nutrition Ambassador Susie Woffenden shares her fitness philosophy

Susie talks here about her passion for fitness and leading a lifestyle that’s conducive to her goals. She’s living proof of what you can achieve when you put your mind to it, and a great role model. Another one up for the girls!

Team ambassadors Nathan Cruz and Amy Fergusson discuss their fitness routines!

Pro wrestler Nathan Cruz has been training, hot in the pursuit of goals, since age fifteen. He talks about how he went from 9st (126lbs) to 14st 200lbs through various diets that have supported his disciplined regime. To read the full story, click here.

Amy Ferguson, our female ambassador, offers some sound advice here about how to stay fit over the festive period. Given the point I made earlier, I think Amy’s more of a ‘Boxing Day in the gym’ type. Nevertheless, her post is choc-full o’ encouraging advice to help you stay fit and well this Crimbo. It’s a great read!

Product reviews

We do love product review here at DS – mostly because they involve eating something. Yay! Anyhow, two of our favourites this month are Sci-MX V-Gain Protein, which is evidence of how far vegan, plant-based products have come, review available here. Next up is PhD Amino Drive, which delivers a hit of caffeine, and a superb dose of amino acids (as the name suggests) to support athletic performance. Read more about it here.

All that’s left to do is wish you all a very merry Christmas from Team DS! We thank you for your continued custom and support throughout 2016!

Have a good one,
