Oatein Peanut Butter Double Chocolate Review

Oatein have an outstanding range of products behind them. The flapjacks have been a favorite of ours for a long time, and their cookies, bars and brownies have been just as impressive. Latest to join the line up is the new high protein peanut butters. While flavoured peanut butters with added whey concentrate aren't anything new, there is certainly a discrepancy in the quality and taste from brand to brand.

Nutritionals

A recommended serving size of 15g (and let's be honest, not many people will be having 15g, especially if using it as a spread on toast or bagels) boasts; 80 calories, 4.4g protein, 1.9g carbs and 5.9g fat. This gives them a protein content of 29%. Not much of a boost to your day per 15g, but all in all pretty impressive! Another selling point is the low sugar content at just 1g per serving.
We would recommend this to anyone wanting to increase healthy fats in their diet and kill a sweet craving without consuming excess sugar.

Taste

The peanut butter itself is incredibly smooth and melts well, it would be an excellent choice to spread on a bagel or top oats. Unlike natural nut butters, there is no oil separation, making it mess free. The taste is brilliant. A genuine dark chocolate flavour is given from the 85% chocolate and cocoa powder used in the ingredients.

My only suggestion would be to perhaps add tiny chocolate chips to give another dimension to the flavour.
