When it comes to drinking coffee, most associate it with short term benefits i.e. making you feel more stimulated and ready for action. However a recent post in Men’s Health discusses the benefit of caffeine consumption AFTER studying, and how it can improve memory and information retention the following day. The theory is that the caffeine raises the brains level of norepinephrine, a hormone that it is linked to better memory formation. The research conducted at the Johns Hopkins University and the University of California found 200mg of caffeine after study was optimal, approx. the same as a large mug of filter coffee.
