Persist To Resist : No Hardship Is Stronger Than You…EVER!

The title of my post could be applied to various degrees of ‘hardship’, in other words ‘hardships’ are relative, so what one person may see as a hardship another might see as a labour of love, a necessary means to an end, or better still…an opportunity! The optimists among us will generally see a hardship as a chance to learn, to persevere and draw from an experience in order to develop oneself. Easier said than done right? Certainly when you’re in the midst of a stressful situation you may find it difficult to see how this could ever be used to your benefit. However this philosophy is one that stands true today, and that’s because it’s been proven to be right time and time again…if it didn’t, then there’d be none of us left!

You are so much stronger than you think… Human’s are a resilient species, we have endured countless evolutions and revolutions, and you’re telling me we’re gonna let a bit of traffic, a parking ticket or a cold call tip you over the edge!? Granted, I’m not a psychologist, and I appreciate there are far more complexities to ‘tipping people over the edge’ than what I allude to above…however I firmly believe that if you adopt a defeatist mindset in a time when the scales could go either way, then the outcome is of course going to be negative! Adopting a positive mindset when stressors are at a relative low is key to wellbeing and longevity. You may have come across the Buddhist proverb that reads: Watch your thoughts, they become words. Watch your words, they become actions. Watch your actions, they become habits. Watch your habits, they become your character. Watch your character, it becomes your destiny. It all stems from your mindset and your thoughts! So take control of them NOW, and let’s start taking what you perceive to be a negative (remember it’s all about how you look at something) and start leeching the future positives to come out of it. Can’t do that right now? Hold on, cos in due course (be it weeks or months), YOU WILL! A videographic representation of the ‘resist and persist’ mentality

Part of letting go of stress is letting go of inhibitions and not taking life too seriously, yes life and certain responsibilities deserve to be taken seriously, but what I want you to do the next time you feel crushed, strangled and suffocated by worry and stress is to remember this little mouse. This mouse demonstrates the message I am trying to get across to you in a fun, yet profound manner…a manner that I feel we should all look to apply when the going gets tough! When the going gets tough, what are you gonna do? I suggest you stick on a Rocky tune, grit your teeth and push that burden up, because eventually you’ll realise the traps that are laid in this world are only there for show, because if you really want to…you can get yourself out EVERY time, you've just gotta BELIEVE IT!
