GoCARB is a prototype at present, but bares all the hallmarks of a legitimate tool for people wanting to control their carb intake, this includes bodybuilders, people wanting to control their total calorie intake, and of course…Diabetics! The app empowers Diabetics and the likes of to determine the carb content of meals, enabling them to control their blood sugars and insulin response more accurately. The apps software recognises the foodstuffs on the plate via photos taken from the phones camera, it then estimates the carb content and then calculates the prandial (during eating) insulin dose. Of course there is the risk of error and miscalculation, so whether this app will hit the market, and whether it is completely safe in determining insulin dosages is debateable, if not controversial. It would however make for a useful diet planning tool, helping you to estimate the carb count of your meals.
