Picture this scene in which you have just finished a gruelling workout in the gym and the only thing you are thinking about is having your whey protein shake. Most of you know that you should be having your whey protein shake as soon as you finish training so that your muscles can start repairing and restoring energy levels within your body. Do you mix your protein shake with water or milk?
Did you know that mixing your protein shake with water will help the rate at which it is absorbed within the body as it doesn't need to use time breaking down milk. Personally, I always have my protein shakes with water for this reason. Using milk has it's advantages also as milk offers far more calories than water and if you are looking to add some size to your physique this would be the way to do it. At the end of your session, consume your shake and let the proteins, carbohydrates and amino acids get to work on building and repairing your muscles!!
