There appears to be new health benefits of drinking red wine (in moderation, obviously!) every week, and now this growing list includes protection against hearing loss and cognitive decline.
Resveratrol, a substance found in red grapes and red wine appears to reduce the likelihood of suffering from hearing loss when ingested prior to exposure to loud noise for an extended period of time. Resveratrol is known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which explains its link with many other health benefits including improving physical performance, heart function and reducing blood pressure.
If you are not a fan of red wine or you do not consume alcohol, Resveratrol is also found in blueberries, cranberries and peanuts.
