Removing The Egg Yolk Just Got Easier…And Cooler!

Not everybody finds it so easy to crack an egg, toss the yolk from shell to shell and keep the yolk from breaking or becoming contaminated by stray pieces of shell. Well, I came across what I feel is one of the most innovative and clean ways to separate an egg yolk from the white recently, and it involves a plastic bottle…

Crack an egg into a bowl, then get an empty 1.5L plastic bottle. Next, turn the bottle upside down and squeeze the bottle in the middle whilst holding the nozzle a few millimetres over the egg yolk. Then swiftly relax your squeeze and the resulting air intake should suck the egg yolk, in tact, into the bottle…job done!
