Apparently coconut oil is used in a process known as oil pulling, a technique that involves swilling coconut oil in your mouth for around 10mins and spitting it out. Although this is an alternative therapy and doesn’t have a wealth of research studies supporting it, those who practice it do swear by it!
All you have to do to remove harmful oral bacteria is take 2 teaspoonful’s of coconut oil in the mouth before you eat anything, swish it around your mouth for around 10mins (a long time I know, so many do it whilst in the shower etc), then spit the oil out (preferably not down the sink as may block drains. Then you should brush your teeth as normal and go about your daily business.
Your teeth look brighter, gums become healthier and you may even reduce the risk of conditions such as gum disease and gingivitis
