Few will contest that ex- army ranger, and one of the most photographed men in bodybuilding, Greg Plitt, was anything less than the main man of fitness and motivation. His undeniably aesthetic physique, the unerring charisma that he exudes whenever he speaks, and the infectious attitude he has to training, nutrition and life in general makes the death of this legend a travesty to our industry. There are very few men in this world who truly captivate, and even fewer who can do so just via an image. From the very little I know of the man, Greg’s gift was the way he could tell a story, a motivational talk or truly deliver an intense training video. Greg spoke of legacy, he believed that each and every one of us had what it took to build our own legacy… and he made it his mission to guide us to fulfilment.
Only recently, Greg delivered an impromptu talk on building your legacy, constructing something that you can be proud of be it a physique, a story or a principal that you can pass on to those dear to you. Greg Plitt held his fans dear to him, and this was clear to see, and because of this he passed his wise words, his philosophies to training and life, his raw energy, and above all he passed on his legacy.
Tragically his legacy will be set for us to follow sooner than it should ever have been, he is gone to soon, and there are literally millions of people who will use his words, his energy and his expertise as an example in the pursuit of building their legacy. A man who was looked upon as a real life ‘Superman’, Greg had a superhuman aura about him claims Head of Development at Bravo, the TV station that hosts the fitness show ‘Work Out’.
He often quoted the mantra:
‘Life isn’t a moment to take a breath, it’s a moment to take your breath away… CREATE THOSE MOMENTS’!’
I’m afraid no words will do this man justice, so if you’re new to the man, the legend that is Greg Plitt, then check the video below to receive his message. For those who already know of him… you won’t need telling twice. Enjoy and remember.
