Ronaldo : The Man People Love To Hate DONATES $8 Million To Nepal

FACT-OF-THE-DAY-logo

After the 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal a few weeks back, the international response to aid has been overwhelming, people have dug deep and made a big difference to the rescue efforts. Despite small villages suffering and requiring expensive helicopter rescues due to the mountainous terrain, the foreign aid effort has been great. Christiano Ronaldo has done his part too by donating $8 million to the Nepal cause, a considerable sum by anyone’s standards.

Want to argue that he only does it for the publicity, then take a look at Ronaldo’s previous philanthropic efforts, they’re well documented. He donated $1.7 million to the children in Gaza strip, has paid for multiple children’s operations which cost hundreds of thousands of pounds each, and helped raise a considerable sum for the tsunami relief in Indonesia in 2004. So his efforts are nothing new, and certainly not for the publicity. He may earn a lot of money, but 8 million is a lot to anybody…Floyd Mayweather could have bought another 8 Bugatti’s to add to his modest collection of 3 with that!

To the man that people love to hate (for reasons that escape me), thank you, well done, and long may your generosity continue.
