The Runner's Vegetable

As winter approaches we are mindful that you need to look after yourself and keep your bodies packed full of vitamins and minerals that will help fight infections. Did you know that Butternut Squash is a great and delicious vegetable packed full of fibre, vitamin C and vitamin A. These alone are going to help work with your immune system and delay colds and flu that you are likely to pick up whilst exercising in the colder months especially if you love your running!

Butternut Squash is also friendly to runners as it contains a good amount of omega 3s which act as an anti inflammatory. Be sure to add this vegetable with your main meals or blend it up into a soup. Which ever way you choose to eat this food, make sure you include it to enhance your body and give it the essential vitamins and minerals it needs.
