The words ‘nine’ ‘eleven’ resonates in peoples memories, and for those who tragically lost people on that day, the memories are all the more poignant. As a nation, the UK are profoundly aware of what it’s like to be on the receiving end of terrorist attacks, and so the unified support and thoughts are channelled to the US during this time of remembrance. The annual ceremony at Ground Zero is due to commence as normal, and to further mark the event the National September 11 museum will be opened today. A One World Trade Centre has risen 1,776 feet from Ground Zero, and is thought to be fully functioning and working with office workers by the same time next year. This personifies the resolve of the American people, and the stand against these callous and terrorising attacks. We salute all those people and servicemen/ women who lost their lives, and our thoughts are with all those who were so profoundly affected by 9/11.
