OK, so there are some reasonable limitations to what the humble handful of mixed nuts can achieve, but to all intents and purposes, a handful of mixed nuts a day can increase the release of the feel good hormone serotonin. The release of serotonin can increase mood as well as improve satiety, helping you to feel fuller for longer. The healthy nut powerhouses include raw walnuts, almonds and hazelnuts, so be sure to get these vitamin E, flavonoid and selenium rich snacks into your diet…it’ll put a smile on your face too!
