Stoptober Week 3 : Fags In The Bin, Time To Dig In!

So you’re into the 3rd and penultimate week of Stoptober, and I’m here to say well done if you’re one of these people in the middle of this process. If you’re showing that discipline to carry on then we salute you and encourage you to keep going! Now it’s pertinent to remember that if your fags are in the bin, then it’s now time to dig in. The emotional and physical stress of stopping smoking is a lot, it’s difficult, there are emotional, hormonal and physical strains that occur, but I’m here to remind you that if you can stop for 28 days then you are 5 times more likely to stay stopped.

Smoking kills more than 100,000 people in the UK alone and that’s a callous and brutal stat, but it’s true. So with just one week left it’s important to remember that you’re not here alone, we’re with you and behind you all the way. There are thousands upon thousands of people stopping smoking in the UK too. We heard a guardsman in the army, guardsman Thompson give his advice on managing cravings for a cigarette and how he had learned to keep them at bay. He would go to the gym, for a run, walk or basically perform some form of exercise to keep him active and his mind off of smoking! So in a round about way he is getting fitter, healthier and saving himself a little bit of money…and you can too!

Stick with it, you’re in the penultimate week, so one more week after this one and you’re there! Then all’s left to do is declare you’re quit, and that you’re going to stay quit…FOREVER!
