If you are stressed and moody first thing, stepping into your car might be the worse thing for you. Adults who walk or cycle tend to be calmer and more relaxed by the time they get into work. A study of 18,000 Britons also found that commuting by train or bus improved well-being compared with driving. Listening to calming music will also help reduce stress and put you in a better frame of mind.
