Top 5 Exercise Tips By Scott Riches

Exercise should be fun and you should want to do it. You don't have to put yourself through grueling workouts to make a difference. You don't need to be amazing to workout, you just have to start in order to become amazing. This is why I want to give you my top 5 exercise tips which will hopefully keep you on the right path this Christmas and give you the motivation you need to continue in the New Year. Let's start with number 1

Fall In Love With The Feeling

Fall in love with the feeling of exercise and not the vanity side. Sure you will look great in time and you will feel much better about yourself, but in order to reach this goal you need to love what you are doing. Confidence will build, your aura will be bold and positive and you will grow more as a person. However do not confuse this feeling with vanity and growing an ego. These are just side effects of what you are doing and could change you as a person. So remember to stay in love with the feeling that exercise gives you. Stay happy, stay humble and most of all stay the same person, don't let a few muscles or a more toned body change who you are.

Priority

Make exercise your priority and make the most of each workout you put yourself through. Each and every day you need to tell yourself you will dedicate an hour of your day to exercise so that you change. Don't put it off and do not tell yourself you can do it tomorrow when you need to do it today. Without exercise you will not change so make a plan, stick to it and get it done. Sometimes you don't have to exercise for an hour, it can be 30 minutes, just as long as you get it done that day.

Get Outdoors

Exercising doesn't have to be done in a gym, why not get outdoors and experience a whole new meaning to exercise. Exercising on the road or in your local park is a great experience. Lots of people do it and sometimes it is great to get out and breathe in fresh air, look at some great surroundings and make your sessions more dynamic. The same gym routine could become boring and where there's boredom an excuse could develop. Mix it up, choose adventure over ease and give yourself a new meaning to get up in the morning by exercising outside.

Forget about Crunches - Eat Healthy

Trust me on this one, you could perform over 1000 sit ups and crunches per day and you will not see a six pack. We all want a six pack or a toned stomach but it doesn't work like this. What works better for you is eating healthy alongside exercising which in time will give you a toned stomach. How many of you perform this amount of sit ups and see no change? I see it often in the gym and when I speak to people about their fitness goals and each time my response is to work with your diet. Make smarter choices with what you eat, put down the chocolates and biscuits and consume nutritious foods which will aid in your fitness journey.

Stretch

Finally, you need to stretch properly in order to continue to exercise. Do you have a niggle in one of your muscles? Do you warm up properly and cool down effectively? Stretching your muscles after a workout is really important and it will help prevent injury. Think about it, if you are injured you can't exercise as it will only make it worse. So, yet again train smart so that you can exercise for longer and not have set backs.

So there you have it. My top 5 ways you can stay active and achieve your goals through exercising most days. Remember to stay happy and do it because you want to. Don't give yourself an excuse and if you are reading this now and haven't yet exercised, what are you waiting for??
